A36, an ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) designated material is a low carbon hot roll steel. The number \'36\' denotes the minimum yield tensile strength which is 36,000 psi. A36 has exceptional mechanical properties. A36 hot rolled steel or L shape structural angle has two legs of either the same or different lengths depending on the purpose.
